David Squires, M.D.
Dr. Squires completed his fellowship in June 2003 at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. During his fellowship, he received a Masters of Health Sciences in Clinical Research from Duke University as part of the NCI Clinical Scholars Program. He was also involved in clinical trials with tumor-targeted therapies.
Prior to his fellowship, he completed his Internal Medicine residency and medical school at the University of Utah. During medical school, he was elected into the AOA medical honor society.
He decided to become a cancer doctor in 1993 when, prior to graduating from Brigham Young University as valedictorian, he discovered his own cancer. As a cancer survivor (leukemia ’93-96), he offers his patients a unique perspective while compassionately helping them and their families through challenging times. Dr. Squires has been at Augusta Oncology since July 2003.
He spends his free time with his wife and eight children and volunteering in church, community, and scouting activities.
